NSA 100S and 100SX Description and Information

NSA’s 100S and 100SX filter units are 5-stage carbon filtration under counter models, which offer you, either a hook-up directly to your faucet, or to a separate sink-top fountain. They re-direct water through the NSA filter, giving you odor-free great tasting water that is substantially free of lead, asbestos, pesticide and herbicidal compounds along with dirt, germs and bacteria such as e-coli and salmonella. Plus, NSA’s bacteriostatic media inhibits bacteria growth within the filter, itself.

Our NSA 100S and 100SX units are best known for their ability to condition your drinking water by removing Chlorine, Taste, Color & Odor. Included, are the manual and all hardware necessary for mounting. They are capable of cleaning approximately 12,000 – 15,000 gallons of water and removing hundreds of contaminants. These units require the appropriate tools for installation. Compression fitting mounting hardware and tubing is included with these units.

Capable of removing the 20,000 plus known industrial compounds that are being produced in America, along with dust, rust, viruses, bacteria and germs, plus a decaying water infrastructure, you’ll want to protect your family by having our NSA 100S or 100SX Under-Counter unit, or one of our other NSA bacteriostatic units.

Why Granular Activated Carbon (GAC)?

Problems arise from chemical compounds that include chlorinated hydrocarbons in various pesticides, herbicides, and industrial solvents. Misuse and improper disposal of these materials has allowed drinking water supplies to become contaminated. Often, water users frequently do not learn of such contamination until after it has already occurred according to a report prepared for the council on Environmental Quality and distributed by the US Department of Commerce.

  1. Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) has been proven to be an effective, economical media for the removal of such contaminants from drinking water.
  2. GAC has a unique ability to both absorb and adsorb chlorine from water. Activated carbon granules have a great of surface area because of their irregular shape.
  3. Compounds which are products of a reaction between chlorine and organic substances present in drinking water are also removed by activated carbon. GAC is a preferred method for protection of drinking water from trihalomethanes (THM's) and has been proven very effective in their removal.

Because of this combined capability of GAC to remove chlorine and improve aesthetic attributes (taste, odor, appearance) of drinking water at a reasonable cost, NSA chose to use GAC in NSA Bacteriostatic Water Filters.

Why Bacteriostatic?

The following information is intended to clarify the difference between home drinking water filters utilizing only Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) and home drinking water filters which use both GAC and silver-impregnated GAC.

BACTERIOLOGICAL TEST RESULTS COMPARING:
NSA Bacteriostatic Water Treatment System to Common Water Filters

The following comparison tests between the NSA Bacteriostatic Water Treatment System and a common water filter were conducted to determine the system's effectiveness in inhibiting bacteria growth within the unit. The NSA unit was also independently tested to prove compliance with US Environmental Protection Agency requirements.

These amounts are considered negligible.

This chart demonstrates that the non-NSA filter units actually stored and incubated bacteria within those units to far beyond the initial introduction of contaminate to their systems, while the NSA units easily reduced and destroyed to negligible amounts even larger contaminate quantities introduced into their systems.
